5 Books to Read after Listening to Marry My by Thomas Rhett

You’ve seen the anthologies before…all of the authors are given the same exact blurb and come up with completely different stories. After Thomas Rhett released his song and subsequent music video for Marry Me, well let’s just say the romance community became inspired.

The following is a list of books that play off that childhood friend to lovers theme with one half of the couple already planning on heading down the aisle with someone else. If you loved the song from Thomas Rhett, then you’ll love all of the books on this list!

Alexandria Bishop stops by to share books based on the theme of Thomas Rhett's hit single Marry Me, stories of childhood friendships and runaway brides.

I wrote this blog post so of course I’ve got a book on this list. I’m not a country girl. In fact, I like to tell people I’m a pop-punk girl living in a country world. I’m from Southern Oregon and like 90% of the people here listen to country. I actually wrote a series about a pop-punk band from small town Oregon, but that’s not what this post is about.

Marry Me is a brother's best friend romance that was both funny and heartbreaking and I highly recommend you reading!

Marry Me by Alexandria Bishop (KU)

No, this about a girl who became enamored by a country song and immediately had to write a book to bring that three-minute music video to life. Giselle is snarky and won’t take shit from anybody. She’s loved the same man since she was seventeen years old. The only problem is he’s her older brother’s best friend. Now the only question is…will she head down the aisle to the man she’s engaged to or will Anders come around and finally pull his head out of his ass to claim the woman he loves?

The Rival by Megan Green (KU)

If you haven’t started Megan Green’s Washington Rampage series yet, you are seriously missing out! Smoking hot swoon-worthy professional baseball players…need I say more? These men know their way around the ball field, the bedroom, and the heart of the women they love. If you’re still reading this, then stop and go grab The Rival by Megan Green!

Marry Me by Samantha Lind

Who doesn’t love a brother’s best friend romance? All the angst and drama and this one is about twins! Will Sam and Lauren get their HEA or will she head down the aisle and say I Do to her new man? Go grab Marry Me by Samantha Lind to find out!

Choose Me by RC Boldt

This blurb!!! Oh my gosh I am instantly transported into Thomas Rhett’s video right from the beginning. I can feel the longing and desperation ripped right from the pages. Go one-click Chose Me by RC Boldt right now!

Keeping Him by Kennedy Fox

I am a huge Kennedy Fox fan and I like to tell the ladies often they stole my last name for their Bishop Brothers series. I mean the first Bishop brother’s name is Alex…coincidence, I think not. 😉 These boys are smoking hot cowboys from Texas and Jackson is no different. Plus have you seen that cover. HOLY MOLY! Be kind to yourself and go one-click the whole series and thank me later.

I’m so thankful for Alexandria stopping by this week and sharing these books with us! If you loved this post I’d love it if you took a screenshot and shared it in your Instagram story and tagged @alexandria.bishop and myself, @heanovelthoughts

About Alexandria Bishop

Born on a small southeastern island in Alaska and raised in southern Oregon, Alexandria Bishop is a PNW girl at heart. By day, she goes to battle with a tiny dictator aka her toddler and by night, she can be found typing ALL the words of her contemporary romance novels accompanied by a glass of wine or two 😉

When she's not in mommy or author mode, she can be found drinking copious amounts of cold brew coffee, bingeing her latest obsession on Netflix, or attending concerts of her favorite pop-punk bands.
